Finisar Network Tools Business
July 16,
2009—Finisar Network Tools is the world’s leading provider of storage
area network (SAN) protocol test tools, software and services. The
Network Tools portfolio focuses on the SAN analysis and data generation and load testing segments, specializing in a wide range of storage protocols, such as Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, 10GigE, iSCSI, SAS and SATA. With this acquisition, JDSU
expands its lab test market and creates new growth opportunities from
the combined test expertise of JDSU and the Network Tools business. The
transaction establishes JDSU as the leading
provider of storage network test solutions and creates new
opportunities to deliver innovation and enhanced services to our lab
and manufacturing customers.
Circadiant Systems, Inc.
November 18,
2008—Circadiant is the industry’s recognized leader in SFP+, 10 GigE
and other stressed signal test solutions. With this acquisition, JDSU
expands it’s product portfolio for the lab and production test market
by capitalizing on a number of key assets, including Circadiant’s
successful Hydra and OST product platforms, established test expertise
and close customer relationships with leading network equipment
manufacturers, optical module vendors and semiconductor
companies. JDSU’s extensive optical transport product development
capabilities and global distribution channels will now be available to
extend the technology leadership established by Circadiant and broaden
the availability of its industry-leading SFP+, 10GigE and other
stressed signal test solutions.
American Bank Note Holographics, Inc.
February
13, 2008—ABNH is a market leader in the production and marketing of
holograms for security applications and the leading supplier of optical
security devices for the transaction card market. With this
acquisition, JDSU builds upon its leadership position in security
solutions for brand protection and expands it's offering to include
security solutions for transaction card-based commerce. It also
fortifies JDSU's leadership position as a fully integrated overt and
covert security solutions provider for product authentication and brand
protection.
Westover Scientific Inc.
January 7,
2008—Westover Scientific Inc. is a leading provider of fiber optic
inspection and cleaning solutions. With the acquisition of the fiber
division of Westover Scientific, JDSU complements its existing fiber
field and lab and production test portfolio with a full suite of fiber
inspection and cleaning solutions that are critical components in a
comprehensive fiber deployment and operations strategy. JDSU, now one
of the largest providers of fiber optic test solutions in the world,
currently integrates high-performance Westover Scientific products in
many of its advanced test platforms, including fiber characterization
in the MTS/T-BERD 8000 and MTS/T-BERD 6000 product lines.
Picolight, Inc.
May 29, 2007—Picolight is a
leading designer and manufacturer of optical pluggable transceivers.
With the addition of Picolight's high-growth pluggable optics
technology, JDSU strengthens its ability to address the fast-growing
market for optical interconnect applications in the datacenter,
enterprise, storage area and metro networking markets. The addition of
Picolight's 850 nanometer (nm) and 1310 nm VCSEL-based transceiver
products to JDSU's current data communications product portfolio brings
innovative technology with the performance, reliability and
manufacturability needed to address a wide range of markets.
Innocor
May 10, 2007—Innocor is a leading
provider of broadband test solutions for network equipment
manufacturers. With this acquisition, JDSU expands its product
portfolio for the lab and production test market by capitalizing on a
number of key assets, including Innocor's successful TestPoint product
family, Innocor's established verification and production test
expertise and innovation; the close customer relationships Innocor has
with leading network equipment manufacturers worldwide; JDSU's strong
product development capabilities; and JDSU's global direct sales
organization and other distribution channels.
Casabyte Inc.
January 23, 2007—Casabyte is a
leading provider of service quality monitoring solutions for mobile
network operators. Casabyte addresses the rapidly growing need for
quality of service (QoS) test solutions as network operators deliver
bandwidth-intensive multimedia content over converged fixed-mobile
networks. With this acquisition, JDSU builds on the leadership position
it has gained in the service assurance market for fixed
telecommunications and cable networks and services.
Test-Um Inc.
May 4, 2006—Test-Um Inc. is an
industry-leading provider of home networking test instruments for the
FTTx and digital cable markets. With this acquisition, JDSU creates new
sales channels for Test-Um's home networking product portfolio and
JDSU's existing set of field test instruments for broadband access
networks. The rapid adoption of IP-based voice, data and video services
makes it a strategic imperative that telecommunications and cable
network operators deploy broadband triple-play test solutions that
extend from the core network into the home. Test-Um and its 30
employees add to JDSU's triple-play test expertise and product
portfolio, bringing an extensive set of home-wiring test instruments
for the verification, installation and maintenance of Category 3,
Category 5 and coaxial cables used in home and small office networks
for the delivery of VoIP, IPTV and other services.
Agility Communications, Inc.
November 30,
2005—Agility Communications, Inc. is a leading provider of widely
tunable laser solutions for the optical network. With this acquisition,
JDSU continues its commitment to investing in innovative technologies
in potentially high growth markets. Adding Agility's tunable laser
solutions further expands JDSU's portfolio for the agile network.
Tunable lasers simplify the deployment of high-speed, metro, and
long-haul networks and enable next-generation services. JDSU's agile
network portfolio includes products such as EDFAs, ROADMs, wavelength
blockers, and optical channel monitors.
Acterna, Inc.
August 3, 2005—Acterna is a leader
in broadband and optical test & management (T&M) solutions for
service providers and network equipment vendors worldwide. With this
acquisition, JDSU becomes the leading provider of optical
communications sub-systems and broadband T&M systems. Its combined
portfolio of products and services will enhance the deployment of
Internet Protocol (IP)-based data, voice and video services over
optical long haul, metro, fiber-to-the-home, DSL and cable networks.
With sales and distribution in more than 160 countries, JDSU will serve
an expanded customer base that includes the largest 100
telecommunications and cable services providers, and system
manufacturers worldwide.
Photonic Power Systems, Inc.
May 26,
2005—Photonic Power Systems is a pioneering provider of photonic power
for the delivery of power over fiber. Photonic power is an inventive
power delivery system whereby light from a laser source travels over
fiber to its destination where it is then is changed to electricity
usinga highly efficientphotovoltaic power converter. The acquisition
represents an innovative system solution to remote powering for many
commercial applications including medical, wireless communications,
electrical power, industrial sensor, and aerospace applications.
Lightwave Electronics Corporation
April 29,
2005—Lightwave Electronics Corporation is a leading provider of
solid-state lasers for commercial markets including materials
processing, semiconductor fabrication, and biotech. By acquiring
Lightwave, JDSU expands its product line and broadens its customer base
in growing laser markets. Now, in addition to high power single emitter
laser diodes, fiber lasers, argon ion, and helium neon lasers, JDSU
provides an expanded range of solid-state lasers that include low to
high powers and ultraviolet, visible, and infrared wavelengths.
