Extech Instruments is a privately held corporation whose high-value, handheld test instruments are sold through a network of national catalog houses, regional stocking distributors and international master distributors. The company has become one of the largest manufacturers and suppliers of test equipment and portable printers and the Extech Instruments brand is highly regarded in many industries where we are the brand of choice. The Extech Instruments Divisionis a manufacturer and supplier of over 14 major product categories of technically advanced, portable meters including multimeters, clamp meters, electrical testers, and environmental meters for the measurement of light, sound, temperature, humidity, airflow, RPMs, and water quality. The company has a strong presence in the electronic and field service/maintenance sectors worldwide.

Extech Data Systems DivisionThe Extech Data Systems Division designs and manufactures battery-operated, portable receipt printers used in field sales, field service, route accounting, ticket issuance, and more. The company has benefited from the growth of Point of Sale (POS) transactions because its printers are highly portable, durable, and light enough to wear on a belt. The printer design allows easy modification to meet customer requirements

Extech employs over 100 people worldwide and 2006 sales revenue figures topped the US$39 million mark. In addition to the US world headquarters, Extech operates two design, manufacturing and warehousing facilities outside the US in Taiwan and Hong Kong and has a Representative Office in Shanghai, China.

Extech Instruments has become a market leader by continuing to offer innovative products that offer more functionality to the customer and by providing unique products that go above and beyond the customer’s expectations. For example, Extech was the first to offer a Type K thermocouple input on its multimeters and clamp meters… the first to introduce handheld test and measurement products with built in RS232 interface and datalogging capabilities. Their latest patented innovation combines non-contact IR Temperature capabilities within key product categories. This innovation has earned several Product of the Year Design Awards for Extech.
